HR Specialist

The HR Specialist will provide generalist HR support to our team, helping with employee onboarding, benefits and compensation administration, policy interpretation, employee file maintenance, HR communications, and more. The HR Specialist will regularly interact with all levels of employees within our HR teams.


  • Interpreting and answering inquiries related to HR benefits, payroll, policies and procedures, while ensuring consistency and thoughtfully navigating grey areas

  • Actively engaging in projects and implementing process improvements for the New York HR team as needed

  • Creating and maintaining a variety of reports and audits, including form I-9 tracking and reverifications, people movements and others

  • Actively participating in the broader HR community including regional/global initiatives and projects

  • Other duties, as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related field preferred

  • 2-5 years of business experience, preferably at a high touch environment with professional staff

  • Familiarity with federal and state employment and labor laws

  • Computer proficiency in Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Strong analytical abilities required

  • Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through is a must; performs tasks with high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness

  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to handle competing priorities and work effectively in a challenging, fast- paced environment

  • Recognize and maintain highest levels of confidentiality

  • Must perform well under pressure, take initiative, and handle multiple tasks at the same time with strong attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop effective working relationships with staff while demonstrating a positive, personal and professional image; highly responsive

  • Ability to analyze and present data in a meaningful way

  • Flexible team player; outstanding customer service orientation and qualities

  • Ability to handle personnel matters and difficult situations with extreme poise, tact and to maintain confidentiality at all times exhibiting sound judgment

  • Ability to work independently, to take initiative, and to overcome obstacles

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
